Clouds Part Over a Marigold Field 

The marigold flower is complicated. Up close, what looks like one bloom is actually dozens of tiny florets petals within petals, layered outwards from a dense centre, each one a slightly different shade of gold or amber or rust. Most people don't look that closely. They see the colour and move on.

This collection was made for the ones who look closer.

Each piece is hand-painted in porcelain the marigold's intricacy rendered not with a scalpel but with the eye and hand of an artist. The motif that fills a plate is the same one you'd find in a temple garland or a Diwali doorstep offering. Familiar but carefully observed. Ordinary in the way that all beautiful things become ordinary once they're yours and then you notice them again every time the light hits them differently. 

For the table that doesn't need an occasion to be set properly.
