Walking Along an Inky Black Stream

Think of a nib. That small split of metal at the tip of a fountain pen, thin enough to catch ink by surface tension and release it by pressure. A nib is absurdly simple a sliver of steel with a tiny hole and yet from it comes everything written. Every love letter, every diary entry, every first draft of something that eventually became the book that changed you.

This collection is an homage to that. The motif painted across each piece follows the flow of ink from nib to paper that looping, branching stream of black that has, at one point or another, carried someone's most important thoughts. Dense, precise, done entirely by hand on fine porcelain. 

For the table of the person who reads. Who writes. Who still owns a fountain pen. Who understands that some of the most beautiful things ever made are unremarkable to look at until you understand what they do.
